WebJul 26, 2015 · The linkage to the carburetor is free. The tractor starts easily and runs smoothly. I can rev up the engine a little by manually forcing the carburetor linkage. I am planning to remove the gas tank to clean and hopefully loosen the linkage. I also need to remove the Touch Control due to excessive leakage.

If necessary, free up and align all linkages to remove any binding, and lubricate all friction points. Also, check to make sure there isn’t too much play in the governor shaft. A stock, flat head 3 7/8th bore would be ok with 40 degree advance at full throttle, a thin wall sleeve, 4 in bore would be better with 30 degree before top dead center at full throttle. can tinkercad open step files

WebAug 4, 2024 · Check the throttle linkage for moving arm on back of governor so arm under side cover see if the lower 1/4 adjusting bolt with lock nut is contacting the housing. If it is, more RPM will happen by backing the stop bolt out unless already backed full out. If spring is to weak to overcome the weights a stiffer spring can raise RPM.
