There are obd1 and obd2 just to make it easier to understand. You will need the obd1 p72. You will know when you try to plug the jumper harness into the ecu. I would use the obd1 p72. L. WebAug 10, 2011 · With VTEC-E, 1 intake valve is closed at low rpms. At a certain RPM (somewhere between 2000-3000 RPMs), VTEC-E will engage and open the other intake valve. If you tried to use a P28, you'd be running with 1 intake valve open until VTEC engaged at around 4000-5000 RPMs. That would kill your performance.
